Jelena Popržan (Vienna, originally from Vojvodina) is a violist, singer and composer. She is one of the most influental personalities on Austrian independent music scene. While mixing vocal improvisation, contemporary art music, comedian talent, love for pop, jazz, chanson and politically engaged songs, Jelena has created a profile that resists genre classifications.

After five albums with her three bands, Jelena released her solo album "La Folia". "Jelena Popržan Queartet" followed as well as a duo with a singer and violinist Flora Geißelbrecht. Die Presse described her projects as "truly artistic" and Falter considers it "simply ingenious".
